Review and Discussion of Sunnyvale City Charter to Identify Amendments to the Charter

BACKGROUND
The Charter Review Committee (“CRC”) held its first meeting on February 6, 2025. CRC members expressed interest in beginning the CRC’s work by reviewing and discussing each section of the Charter. Based on the CRC’s discussion, staff anticipates that review will begin with Article 1 of the Charter and proceed sequentially, and that the Committee’s review in this manner will continue at least through the March 6, 2025 CRC meeting, but this item is agendized to allow discussion of any Charter section or of the Charter as a whole. The goal of this review process will be to help the CRC develop a list of potential amendments for further study.
