Summary
The City Council met in study session at City Hall in the West Conference Room, 456 West Olive Avenue, Sunnyvale, California on Septmebr 30, 2014 at 6:00 PM with Vice Mayor Davis presiding.

Approximately four members of the public, including two Parks and Recreation Commissioners.
 
 
Study Session Summary:  
Director of Public Works, Manuel Pineda, presented information about the City's current parkland dedication standards, using a PowerPoint slide presentation.
 
Councilmembers asked questions, made comments, and requested additional information; summarized below (some comments were made by more than one Councilmember and are only listed once).
·      Discussion on the remediation costs of Seven Seas Park
·      Concerns about the standards excluding large sites
·      Concerns about the standards being too conservative
·      Questions regarding Sunnyvale High School and whether it meets our standards
·      Questions regarding housing being allowed where parks are not
·      The legal options and legal concerns with contaminated property as parks including mitigation and superfund sites
·      Discussion on the standards allowing more flexibility
·      Support of the stated purpose of Sunnyvale's standards
·      Support of staff's recommendation to review options and come back to Council
