Additionally, approval is requested to authorize the City Manager to modify and renew the purchase agreement for two (2) additional one-year periods, not to exceed budgeted amounts, provided pricing and service remain acceptable to the City.

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

WVSG staff have worked for Sunnyvale since 2014 and are assigned to some of the most complex projects. Their current contract expires on June 29, 2024.

Currently, WVSG is managing several active projects that will take at least one to two years to entitle and get through plan check, including; 911 E. Duane (59 residential units within a Village Center), 352 Java Drive (Moffett Park Specific Plan (MPSP) Residential Project with 8 stories and 307 residential units), 333 Moffett Park Drive (MPSP 300,000 square foot (sf) Office Building and Development Agreement), 1170 Sonora Ct (Lawrence Station Specific Plan (LSAP), 7 story 107 residential units 100% affordable), and 205 E Washington Avenue (57,500 sf Office Building in Downtown Specific Plan (DSP)). WVSG is also assigned to several other pending projects that may resubmit plans for review. In addition, WVSG continues to manage several large projects that are under plan check review or construction, including office developments and an affordable housing project in the LSAP. These services are critical to maintain appropriate planning review cycles per state law. The Planning Division expects development activity through planning entitlement or building permit review to remain steady through 2026.

FISCAL IMPACT

Funding for development related contract services is available in the Development Enterprise Fund through building and planning permit fee revenue.
