REPORT TO COUNCIL

SUBJECT

Title

Mayoral Announcement of Mayor-Appointed Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) System Naming

Report

BACKGROUND

On September 30, 2025, Council approved the award of multiple agreements for the implementation, licensing, and maintenance, of a new Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) System (RTC 25-0827). Implementation of the new CRM will include a name for constituents to reference and recognize the system as part of available City services.

Pursuant to Council Policy 7.4.12, ad hoc advisory committees are created and appointed by the Mayor with a fixed, limited assignment for a particular purpose. No more than three councilmembers may serve on an ad hoc committee. The policy requires that any action to create or modify the committee must be placed as an item on a Council agenda.

EXISTING POLICY

Council Policy 7.4.12, Council Appointments to Intergovernmental Agencies, Council Subcommittees, and Council or Mayor-Created Task Forces

DISCUSSION

Mayor Klein announces an ad hoc advisory committee on CRM System Naming and that Mayor Larry Klein, Councilmember Richard Mehlinger, and Councilmember Murali Srinivasan will form the committee. The committee will work with staff to discuss and evaluate potential names for the new CRM system. The committee will make a recommendation to the full Council for consideration at a noticed, open Council meeting. Upon presentation of the ad hoc advisory committee’s recommendation and subsequent Council action, the term of the ad hoc advisory committee will expire.

PUBLIC CONTACT

Public contact was made by posting the Council meeting agenda on the City's official-notice bulletin board at City Hall, at the Sunnyvale Public Library and in the Department of Public Safety Lobby. In addition, the agenda and this report are available at the City Hall reception desk located on the first floor of City Hall at 456 W. Olive Avenue (during normal business hours), and on the City's website.
