BACKGROUND

The application deadline was April 24, 2025. The deadline serves as a cutoff point to allow time to verify voter registration and schedule interviews. Applications received after the deadline are marked as “late” on the first page of the application.

 

EXISTING POLICY

Council Policy 7.2.19 Boards and Commissions

Administrative Policy Manual Chapter 1 - General Management Article 15

 

DISCUSSION

The City received 40 applications for current vacancies on Boards and Commissions. 37 applicants are scheduled to be interviewed on May 12 and May 13, 2025. The remaining applicants were interviewed within the last twelve months or are not available for an interview on May 12 or May 13.

 

Appointments to Boards and Commissions are scheduled for May 20, 2025.

 

Councilmembers are provided a set of non-redacted applications.

 

PUBLIC CONTACT

Public contact was made by posting the Council meeting agenda on the City's official-notice bulletin board at City Hall, at the Sunnyvale Public Library and in the Department of Public Safety Lobby. In addition, the agenda and this report are available at the NOVA Workforce Services reception desk located on the first floor of City Hall at 456 W. Olive Avenue (during normal business hours), and on the City's website.
