BACKGROUND
Mayor Larry Klein appointed Vice Mayor Omar Din, Councilmember Linda Sell and himself to the Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on Potential Homekey Application to explore the process of applying for the Project Homekey Program to construct an interim housing project in Sunnyvale.
Pursuant to Council Policy 7.4.13, ad hoc advisory committees are created and appointed by the Mayor with a fixed, limited assignment for a particular purpose, and no more than three councilmembers may serve on an ad hoc committee. The policy requires that any action to create or modify the committee must be placed as an item on the Council agenda.

DISCUSSION
The City explored potential sites for Project HomeKey grant funding as an additional way to support our unhoused community with interim housing. The California Department of Housing and Community Development HomeKey grant application timeline was very short and City was unable to secure an appropriate site prior to the grant application deadline.
The Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on Potential HomeKey Application has completed their assignment and therefore the Committee's term has expired.
PUBLIC CONTACT
Public contact was made by posting the Council meeting agenda on the City's official-notice bulletin board at City Hall, at the Sunnyvale Public Library and in the Department of Public Safety Lobby. In addition, the agenda and this report are available at the NOVA Workforce Services reception desk located on the first floor of City Hall at 456 W. Olive Avenue (during normal business hours), and on the City's website.
