BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
This report is to inform the Council of the following resignation from a City commission.
Esther Rosenfeld, who was appointed to a term on the Human Relations Commission on July 1, 2024, and scheduled to serve a term to expire June 30, 2026, has submitted a letter of resignation from the Commission, effective October 10, 2025.
Administrative Policy, Chapter 1, General Management, Article 15 Boards and Commissions, Section 2, Subdivision 8 states that when a resignation letter is received, staff shall prepare an Information Only Report to Council that indicates the resignation(s) and specifies the process that staff recommends filling the new vacancy.
The Human Relations Commission vacancy will be promoted with the current recruitment process for November 2025 appointments. The application deadline for this recruitment is October 27, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., with interviews on November 3, 2025, and an appointment on November 18, 2025.
With this resignation, the November 2025 recruitment includes the following vacancy:
* Human Relations Commission (Category One or Category Two, one vacancy)

Public contact was made by posting the Council meeting agenda on the City's official-notice bulletin board at City Hall, at the Sunnyvale Public Library and in the Department of Public Safety Lobby. In addition, the agenda and this report are available at the City Hall reception desk located on the first floor of City Hall at 456 W. Olive Avenue (during normal business hours), and on the City's website.
