BACKGROUND
Description of Proposed Project
A previous Use Permit was considered at this site by the Planning Commission on March 10, 2014 for a new four-story office/R&D building with one level of underground parking beneath the building. Before the project was scheduled to go to City Council for a final decision, the applicant revised the project by removing the parking under the building and adding a detached parking structure at the back of the site. Other revisions include: the office/R&D building is located closer to the front property line, a row of parking spaces was removed from the front of the building, and the location of landscaping and trees has been adjusted. While no changes were made to the building size, floor area ratio (FAR), or architecture, the site modifications required reconsideration by the Planning Commission and recirculation of the Mitigated Negative Declaration.
