SUMMARY OF COMMISSION ACTION
The Housing and Human Services Commission considered this item on April 14, 2026.
The Housing and Human Services Commission voted to approve Alternative 1: Recommend that the City Council Approve the 2026/27 HUD Action Plan as shown in Attachment 2 to this report. The vote was 4-0, with Commissioners Davis and Riviere absent.

Public contact was made by posting the Council meeting agenda on the City's official-notice bulletin board at City Hall, at the Sunnyvale Public Library and in the Department of Public Safety Lobby. In addition, the agenda and this report are available at the City Hall reception desk located on the first floor of City Hall at 456 W. Olive Ave. (during normal business hours), and on the City's website.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
Alternative 1: Adopt the draft 2026/27 Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Action Plan as shown in Attachment 2 to the report.
JUSTIFICATION FOR RECOMMENDATION
Approval of the 2026/27 HUD Action Plan will authorize the City to receive its 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) grant funds. These funds will be used to address local housing, public services, and community development needs to support lower-income households in Sunnyvale, consistent with the 2025-2030 Consolidated Plan.
If approved by the City Council, staff will submit the 2026/27 HUD Action Plan to HUD no later than August 16, 2026.
