Review Complete Streets Checklist for TDA Article 3 Funding

REPORT

Report

The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) is the metropolitan planning organization for the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area region, which includes Santa Clara County. The MTC administers the Transportation Development Act (TDA) Article 3 funding for bicyclist and pedestrian projects. Attachment 1 is the MTC Resolution 4108 with the latest revision dated March 27, 2024. Combined with the funding amount banked last year ($411,038) and rescinded funds from prior years ($210,475), the City has $811,845 for reimbursement of eligible projects for FY 2025/26.

City of Sunnyvale plans to submit an application for one or more of the following projects that BPAC will select during the May BPAC meeting:

1. Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB) & Curb Extensions

2. Evelyn Avenue Multi-use Trail

3. Homestead Full-time Bike Lanes

4. Crossing Improvements at Gail Avenue & Iris Avenue

5. Poplar Avenue Sidewalk Construction Project

Staff submitted the MTC Complete Streets Checklist for these projects, and the copies for the first four projects are attached for review. BPAC already reviewed the checklist for Poplar Avenue Sidewalk Construction Project during the November 2024 BPAC Meeting.
