Selection of Name for the New City Park Located at One Redwood Place (Previous AMD site)

SUMMARY OF COMMISSION ACTION
The Parks and Recreation Commission considered this item on April 13, 2022.

The Parks and Recreation Commission voted to approve the recommendation of five possible park names for the new City Park at One Redwood Place (the previous AMD site). The five names are, in alphabetical order:
a) Arques Park
b) Duane Park
c) Manzanita Park
d) Redwood Park
e) Shellmound Park

The vote was 5-0.

PUBLIC CONTACT
Public contact was made by posting the Council agenda on the City's official-notice bulletin board outside City Hall, at the Sunnyvale Public Library and in the Department of Public Safety Lobby. In addition, the agenda and report are available at Office of the City Clerk, and on the City's website.

ALTERNATIVES
1. Select a name for the new City Park located at One Redwood Place from the five names recommended by the Parks and Recreation Commission:
a) Arques Park
b) Duane Park
c) Manzanita Park
d) Redwood Park
e) Shellmound Park
2. Select a name for the new City Park located at One Redwood Place from the list of suggested names in Attachment 3 to the report, entitled AMD Site Park Naming Suggestions.
3. Select a name for the new City Park located at One Redwood Place as preferred by City Council.
4. Do not select a name for the new City Park located at One Redwood Place and provide direction to staff.
