The City Council met in study session at City Hall in the City Council Chambers, 456 W. Olive Avenue, Sunnyvale, California on December 17, 2013, with Mayor Spitaleri presiding.

Study Session Summary:
Jack Witthaus, Transportation and Traffic Manager gave a presentation describing various types of shuttle bus service, associated logistics and issues, and shuttle services in Sunnyvale.

Kermit Cuff with the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) described shuttle bus services provided by the VTA.

Dominic Haigh with RidePal described his subscription commuter and shuttle bus service brokerage.

Councilmembers inquired ways to introduce or improve shuttle service and VTA bus service in Sunnyvale, and of the scope of a pending VTA study of north-south transit routes. Motion by Whittum, Second Meyring, to direct staff to initiate discussions on establishing a north-south shuttle bus service that could serve the Perry Park and Moffett Park areas.
