Call to Order:
Vice Mayor Tara Martin-Milius called the meeting to order at 6 p.m.

Study Session Summary:
Director of Public Works Manuel Pineda presented information about the City's sidewalk repair program.
Councilmembers asked questions, made comments, and requested additional information; summarized below (some comments were made by more than one Councilmember and are only listed once).
· Questions about different types of mitigation options and how well they have worked.
· Discussion on the costs of repair, possible funding sources and the need to establish goals and funding guidelines.
· Discussion and concern about liability issues including number of claims and related costs.
· Questions about the history of the sidewalk repair program and related service levels.
· Questions about the severity level rating system and how many sites are in each category.
· Concern over the increasing number of sites identified as needing repair.
· Questions about what other local cities are doing regarding funding and if they have a backlog of sites needing repair.
· Questions on if there is a state standard for what is an acceptable backlog of sites.
· Purpose of the session is to provide a description of the current program and various options to deal with the current backlog of sites needing repair.
