Summary

Call to Order:

Vice Mayor Martin-Milius called the meeting to order at 4:33 p.m.

 

City Councilmembers Present:

Mayor Jim Griffth

Vice Mayor Martin-Milius

Councilmember David Whittum

Councilmember Pat Meyering (arrived at 4:40pm)

Councilmember Glenn Hendricks

Councilmember Gustav Larsson

 

City Councilmembers Absent:

Councilmember Jim Davis

 

Public Comment: 

None.

 

Study Session Summary:

Director of Human Resources Teri Silva stated that Council selected Bob Murray & Associates to administer the City Attorney recruitment. 

 

Bob Murray, Founder and Partner and Valerie Gaeta Phillips, President presented the draft City Attorney recruitment brochure information.

 

Each Councilmember was provided the opportunity to provide comments and feedback on the information presented for the brochure. Comments were taken and the consultants responded to numerous questions. 

 

Council asked for clarification on information described under the Community section.  Director Teri Silva stated she will seek assistance from Communications Officer Jennifer Garnett to confirm the information and provide any updates to Bob Murray & Associates for revisions. 

 

MOTION: Councilmember Whittum moved and Councilmember Meyering seconded the motion that the line where it states “retirement” simply read, “Retirement: CalPERS 2% at 60.”

 

VOTE: 2 - 4 (Mayor Jim Griffth, Vice Mayor Martin-Milius and Councilmembers Hendricks and Larsson dissented; Councilmember Davis absent)

 

Council discussion concluded with the format of the interview process.

Vice Mayor Martin-Milius adjourned the meeting at 5:12 p.m.
