BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
This item is presented at the request of the Mayor. Per Council Policy 7.4.13, Ad hoc committees have a fixed, limited assignment; they are created and appointed by the Mayor. The policy requires that any action to create or modify the committee must be placed as an item on the Council agenda. Staff has come to interpret the policy as including any action to dissolve a committee. At the January 10, 2017 Council Meeting, the Mayor requested this item be placed on the January 24, 2017 agenda.
As the Mayor will address during the end of the Council Meeting, this report serves as notice that the Mayor has dissolved the Lawrence Station Area Plan Citizen Advisory Committee Appointment Committee as with the adoption of the Lawrence Station Area Plan the Committee is no longer needed.
