Consider Draft 2017 Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Action Plan

SUMMARY OF COMMISSION ACTION
The draft Action Plan was considered by the Housing and Human Services Commission (HHSC) at its regular meeting on April 19, 2017. Several non-profit agency staff and other members of the public attended the meeting. Four speakers representing non-profit agencies spoke during the public hearing in support of the Action Plan and expressing thanks for the funding recommendations for their agencies.

The HHSC voted 6-0 to recommend to Council Alternative 1, Approve the 2017 Action Plan as shown in Attachment 2, with correction of several clerical errors as noted by Commissioner Gilbert.

PUBLIC CONTACT
Public contact was made by posting the Council agenda on the City's official-notice bulletin board outside City Hall, at the Sunnyvale Senior Center, Community Center and Department of Public Safety; and by making the agenda and report available at the Sunnyvale Public Library, the Office of the City Clerk and on the City's website.

Notice of public hearings, including the 30-day public comment and review period, was posted at City Hall and published in the Sunnyvale Sun newspaper on March 31, 2017.

A draft of the 2017 Action Plan was made available for public review at the One Stop Counter at City Hall, at the Sunnyvale Library, and was posted on the City's website for the required minimum 30-day review period prior to City Council action.

ALTERNATIVES
1. Approve the 2017 Action Plan as shown in Attachment 2 to the report.
2. Approve the 2017 Action Plan with modifications.
