SUBJECT
Title
Designate a Voting Delegate and Alternate for the League of California Cities Annual Conference
Report
BACKGROUND
The League of California Cities (the "League") Annual Conference is held every September and is scheduled this year from Wednesday, September 12 through Friday, September 14, 2018, in Long Beach, CA. During the Conference, the League membership acts upon resolutions that establish League policy during the Business Meeting session of the Conference, scheduled for Friday, September 14, at 12:30 p.m., at the Long Beach Convention Center.

Each member city is entitled to one vote on matters pertaining to League policy. Cities must designate one voting delegate and up to two alternate voting delegates, which, per League bylaws, must be done by city council action and cannot be accomplished by individual action of the mayor or city manager alone (Attachment 1). The League also requires the voting delegates be registered conference attendees and signed in at the Voting Delegate Desk upon arrival.
