SUMMARY OF COMMISSION ACTION
The Arts Commission considered this item on January 15, 2020 and ranked the proposals in the following order:
1. Denise Hart
2. Faducci
3. Adrian Litman
4. Archie Held
The Arts Commission recommends approval of design concept #2 by Denise Hart.
PUBLIC CONTACT
Public contact was made by posting the Council agenda on the City's official-notice bulletin board outside City Hall, at the Sunnyvale Senior Center, and by making the agenda and report available at the Sunnyvale Public Library, the Office of the City Clerk and on the City's website.
ALTERNATIVES
1. Approve the Arts Commission recommendation of design concept #2 by Denise Hart.
2. Do not accept the Arts Commission recommendation and approve a different design concept.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Recommendation
There is no staff recommendation for this project. Pursuant to the Art in Public Places procedures, the Arts Commission is authorized to rank the conceptual design proposals and develop a recommendation to the City Council for consideration and final approval. The proposed design by Denise Hart meets the public art requirements set for this public art project.
The approved design proposal will be further developed with oversight from staff to meet the Art in Public Places guidelines within the allocated budget. The final design will be presented to the Arts Commission and City Council as an informational item at a future date.
