Report and Discussion of Recent Santa Clara Valley  
Transportation Authority (VTA) Bicycle and Pedestrian  
Advisory Committee (BPAC) Meeting  
Commissioner Mehlman gave the meeting summary report regarding the following  
topics:  
- State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) 2026 funding  
- Metropolitan Transportation Commission's (MTC’s) complete streets checklist for  
Homestead Road  
- Bascom Avenue Complete Streets checklist (initiated in 2024)  
- Review of recommended changes to the existing 2016 Measure B Bicycle &  
Pedestrian Planning Studies Competitive Grant program criteria  
Vice Chair Beagle asked about the following:  
- The interface between VTA's Homestead Road project and City's project  
Angela Wong, Transportation Engineer, responded.  
Commissioner Hafeman asked about the following:  
- Whether the work of making sidewalks ADA compliant would be done east of  
Bernardo Avenue in Sunnyvale  
Ms. Wong and Lillian Tsang, Principal Transportation Engineer, responded.

- Second meeting virtual on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. via Zoom

- City launching online survey to gather input on potential trail route alignments  
and crossing options.
