PUBLIC HEARINGS/GENERAL BUSINESS
Selection and Ranking of Study Issues
1.
Principal Planner Schroeder gave an overview of the study issue ranking process
and the study issues for consideration this year.
Commissioner Bratton noted that it was a challenge to rank the study issues as they
are all important. Referring to CDD 19 06: Programs to Encourage Visitation to
Heritage and Landmark Resources, she asked why is this a study issue to begin
with when there is low to no cost to promote these resources. Chair Sharma agreed
with Commissioner Bratton and stated that her understating is to update the City
website to add more material and information. Mr. Schroeder acknowledged their
suggestions and provided more background on the origin of the study issue.
Commissioner Bratton noted that if staff hours are an issue, there are volunteers
that would contribute and help and noted that she was willing to volunteer.
Chair Sharma noted that Study Issues will be ranked during the February 16, 2023
City Council Study Issues/Budget Proposals Workshop and encouraged the
Commission to attend and advocate for their study issues as individuals.
Commissioners ranked the study issues individually, and the ranking totals
concluded in CDD 18-02 as the first priority, CDD 19-04 as the second priority and
CDD 19-06 as the third priority.
MOTION:
Commissioner Caroompas moved and Commissioner Hopkins seconded the motion
to approve the Study Issue rankings by priority as follows:
1.CDD 18-02: Update and Review of the Heritage Resource Inventory, 2. CDD
