Planning for Halaqa-Seder in collaboration with Jewish and  
Muslim Community members  
Sylvie B. shared concerns regarding the timing of the Halaqa-Seder.  
Commissioners communicated the healing nature of these types of events in  
general and decided to postpone the planning for Halaqa-Seder in collaboration  
with the Jewish and Muslim Community members.  
The Commission requested staff investigate a poll to gather input from the  
community regarding topics for listening sessions and community  
events.Commissioners expressed interest in reaching out individually to different  
community groups.

Host first of 4 Difficult Conversations/Civility Roundtables  
The commissioners recently discussed the format of the civility roundtable and  
decided on how to proceed with the topics. Equity, Access and Inclusion (EAI)  
Manager Fernanda Perdomo-Arciniegas will be responsible for creating an  
application and process to highlight individuals from the community who will be  
involved with the civility roundtable. In March, the commissioners will focus on the  
logistics of planning the event, which is scheduled for May 2024

Celebrate/Commemorate Black History Month  
EAI Manager highlighted the Black History Month events hosted by Library  
Recreational Services and informed the commissioners about internal events hosted  
by staff at the City of Sunnyvale.

EAI Manager highlighted the events hosted by Library Recreational Services for  
Lunar New Year.
