CALL TO ORDER

Vice Chair Syquia called the meeting to order at 7:18 p.m.

PRESENTATION

Bay Area Jewish Coalition Presentation

Members of the Bay Area Jewish Coalition (BAJC) presented recent events

impacting the Jewish community to raise awareness about their experiences. They

provided advice to the Human Relations Commission and shared resources to help

advise the council on raising awareness to the Jewish community.

Staff Liaison Sell thanked the members of BAJC for their bravery and presenting

useful resources and information to the Human Relations Commission.

Women's History Month Recognition

Staff Jaqui Guzman Deputy City Manager informed the commission that the council

does have a recognition award that council presents to different groups throughout

the year. The discussion to plan and award different group or individuals has been

tabled due to city council already having this award.

Civility Roundtable Discussion

Staff Jaqui Guzman gave advise to the commission regarding the Civility

Roundtable Discussion and the timeline it would take to host an event. The

commissioners discussed and shifted their focus on having an event regarding

bullying and harassment for all ages. The logistics and planning for event will be

discussed at a later meeting.

Zoom participant Christine Fitzgerald commented on worldly translation service and

expressed her gratitude on the accessibility that it provides to the community.
