STANDING ITEM: CONSIDERATION OF POTENTIAL STUDY ISSUES

Discussion and Consideration of Potential Study Issue:
Feasibility of Converting the PG&E Land Near Greenwood
Manor Park into a Dog Park
Jim Stark informed the Commission that Council approved the donation for the East
Channel Trail Study (RTC 22-0542). Bicyclist and Pedestrian Advisory
Commission's study is a 5.78-mile Class I shared-use path trail between the Bay
Trail and Homestead Road, and would include the trail near Ortega Park referenced
in the Parks and Recreation Commission's proposed study issue. The East Channel
Trail Study is required to evaluate the existing conditions, identifying design
constraints, determine trail alignment(s), and evaluate alternatives at the crossings
and at currently unplanned bike boulevard segments. Jim noted that BPAC's study
issue will include extensive outreach and more than likely make rounds through the
PRC and Sustainability Commission.
After group discussion, Chair Giri withdrew the study issue.
