BACKGROUND
State Accessory Dwelling Unit Legislation:
The State of California enacted new legislation related to ADUs (AB 881, AB 68, and SB 13). The City of Sunnyvale City Council adopted ADU regulations incorporated in Sunnyvale Municipal Code (SMC) Chapter 19.79, which went into effect in February 2020.
